Medical Director On Call

As Chief Medical Director, Dr. D’Alessandro has extensive experience in determining donor eligibility, organ suitability for transplantation and donor management techniques to help maintain the opportunity for donation during the evaluation period. Having served on many United Network of Sharing (UNOS) committees and having served as a Regional Councilor twice, he is familiar with UNOS policies, particularly regarding organ allocation. He is particularly skilled with placement and utilization of extended criteria donors and donation after circulatory death (DCD) organs. In 2022 Dr. D’Alessandro received the Lifetime Achievement Award from The Association of Organ Procurement Organizations (AOPO).
